Best Restaurant for Omurice : Mt. Fuji Restaurant in Kawaguchiko

On my recent month-long trip to Japan, I had a list of must-try foods, and omurice was at the top. Originally, I’d hoped to try it at Kichi Kichi Omurice in Kyoto, but they were fully booked.

Turns out, they say “rejection is redirection” for a reason. My experience at Mt. Fuji Pancake Restaurant was fantastic!

As my time in Japan was about to end, I still hadn’t crossed omurice off my list. My last stop was in Kawaguchiko, where I came across Mt. Fuji Pancake Restaurant, which happened to serve omurice. So I gave it a try.

Address: 4020 Funatsu, Fujikawaguchiko, Minamitsuru District, Yamanashi 401-0301, Japan

I came for the omurice but ended up trying a bit of everything! Here’s what I ordered:

Omurice with Beef Stew Curry (around ¥1,200): The dish was just what I was craving. A fluffy omelet topped flavorful rice with beef stew curry. It was so delicious that even as I’m typing this, I’m starting to crave it again! This omurice was spot-on and did not disappoint.

Fluffy Pancakes (around ¥1,500): I couldn’t resist trying the pancakes, and they look so good as the other customer order it. It was light, airy, and very tasty. It’s a perfect sweet treat.

Cheese Pizza with Honey Option (around ¥1,300): I ordered a cheesy pizza that came with honey on the side for drizzling. The honey added a unique sweetness to the savory cheese, which was surprisingly good! This was my first time to taste a pizza like this.

Kids’ Meal (around ¥900): This was a good-sized portion that kept my little one happy and full.

Everything was delicious! The food was amazing, the staff were friendly, and the restaurant itself felt warm and inviting.

I think the restaurant is popular, so be prepared to wait if you’re visiting around lunchtime. We had a 30-minute wait, but the line grew even longer as lunchtime approached, so I’d recommend going early or during off-peak hours to avoid a wait. Prices are reasonable, with most dishes ranging between ¥900 and ¥1,500.

I understand that everyone has their own tastes and preferences when it comes to food, so this review reflects my personal experience and what I enjoyed during my visit. I hope sharing my thoughts helps give you an idea of what you might expect if you decide to try Mt. Fuji Pancake Restaurant for yourself.

To share my final thoughts

My meal at Mt. Fuji Pancake Restaurant was one of the highlight of my Kawaguchiko visit. If you’re in the area and looking for good food, I’d highly recommend stopping by. I know I’ll be back!
